NUCA Crew Leader Training is a 2-day course designed for new leaders and people who have been recently placed in leadership roles. The course focuses on skills that new leaders typically don’t receive while on the job.
A sample of topics covered:
- Effective Communication (verbal, written, email and electric)
- How to council employees and effective disciplinary procedures and the disciplinary process
- How to delegate responsibilities and how mentor and why it’s important
- Being fiscally responsible for both personnel and equipment/ materials
- How to deal with difficult employees/ older employees and cultural differences
- Sexual harassment
- Substance abuse
- Importance of documentation
- How to build a safety culture and importance of safety
- Emergency response and how to effectively manage an emergency situation
- Workforce development and building a culture where individuals want to work for you
- Generational differences and dealing with younger employees entering the workforce and also older employees who have been in the industry for a while and the differences
